National stadium construction

“Naresta has signed a general contract for the construction of the National Stadium in Vilnius. The contract was signed with the concessionaire implementing the stadium project – the company Vilniaus Multifunctional Complex of the investment company BaltCap.

According to the concession agreement between Vilnius City Municipality, the Ministry of Education and Science of Lithuania and Vilniaus Multifunctional Complex, the new stadium will be built in Vilnius on a 228,000-square-metre plot of land on Šeškinė Hill in 2025.

Due to the large scale of the project, the construction of the multifunctional complex is divided into phases: according to the approved project, the first phase of construction will include a 22-hectare site for the construction of a UEFA Category IV stadium with a sports museum and football training pitches.

The architects of the project are the US architectural firm Populous and Lithuania’s Cloud architects. The entire complex will be BREEAM certified and will have an A++ energy efficiency rating.
