Construction of a new treatment building

The new building of the Vilnius Mental Health Centre is not only functional and innovative, but also architecturally combines modern design and respect for the historical heritage.The construction of the 3-storey, 4,200 sqm building, which is integrated into the landscape and surrounded by a forest, started in early 2023.

Modern and adapted facilities for patient care

The first floor of the building will house the gerantopsychiatry ward, with separate wards for men and women, common activity areas and a canteen. The second floor of the building will house an acute psychiatric ward with separate courtyards to improve patient and staff safety and patient care needs.

Psychosocial rehabilitation facilities are spread over all three floors of the building. A staircase and an elevator are provided for patient movement The ground floor houses rehabilitation rooms and classrooms, including a gym, art and music therapy, physiotherapy, woodwork, massage and other rooms. The second floor includes wards and a canteen for the rehabilitation unit. Some of the rehabilitation rooms will also be located in the attic floor: audiovisual and light therapy, computer literacy and counselling rooms. The attic floor will also be equipped with doctors’ offices, administrative rooms, a conference room and a reading room.
