Cyber City, one of the largest technology towns in the Baltics, is located in Vilnius’ Naujamiestis district, on the territory of the former Sparta factory. Naresta has signed a cooperation agreement for the construction works of a new 11,500 sq. m A+ energy class business centre.

“The spaces built in the campus so far were immediately filled: from day one, as many people have been working here as there are workplaces available. With the demand for new jobs growing rapidly, we are also expanding “Cyber City,” further developing the vision of a fully-fledged innovation valley and community space,” shares Rūta Chadasevičiūtė, Director of Sparta, AB.

The construction of the business centre will begin this autumn, and the expected duration of the works will be 17 months. The building will reflect the most advanced architectural and sustainability standards and aims to obtain the prestigious BREEAM New Construction Excellent certificate.

Cyber City’s requirements for architectural, engineering, sustainability and respect for history solutions could be a notable example and a reference point for future projects in Lithuania. For our experienced team, this is yet another rewarding opportunity to collaborate with like-minded partners who set the highest quality standards,” says Tadas Grincevičius, CEO of Naresta.

Designed by Cloud Architects, the business centre will have two underground floors and five above-ground floors. The underground part will cover 4,700 sq. m and the above-ground space 6,800 sq. m. The first floor is planned to accommodate almost 1,000 sq. m of commercial space.

A fountain will grace the legendary chimney

One of the most interesting and well-known elements of Cyber City is the preserved and updated legendary chimney of the Sparta plant. As the city of technology grows, innovations are planned here as well. The signed agreement stipulates that a fountain will be installed around the chimney.

The project also places even greater emphasis on green spaces: the square adjacent to the technology campus will be landscaped and enriched with new greenery, pathways, lighting solutions, and other essential quality features, while a bicycle path will also be installed.

“This is a splendid example of how contemporary architecture can connect with the historical heritage of the city and create new spaces adapted to the needs of both business and the employees.

It is clear that Cyber City is becoming more and more a commercial space, but also a centre of attraction for the residents of Vilnius, a place of innovation and creativity,” says T. Grincevičius.

So far, the 35,000 sq. m technology campus is home to Tesonet Group companies. There is also a bar, a shop, cafés, and a sports club.
